Enterprise Business Development Executive (One Year Fixed Term Contract)

Based in:

Post holder will be based in the LINX Peterborough office but travel to the LINX London office and other UK and international locations will be required on a regular basis.

Statement of Objectives:

The LINX Enterprise Business Development Executive will be responsible for building on LINX’s success by identifying and qualifying sales opportunities, selling LINX services to both new and existing LINX members, and collaborating closely with LINX partners globally. The role holder will be expected to help LINX achieve its objective of increasing its finance and enterprise member base.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve personal sales KPIs set by the Head of Sales, and help to drive the LINX sales team to achieve company budgetary targets
  • Quickly identify high value business opportunities outside of the existing membership base, within the finance and enterprise segments
  • Build sales stories for each identified opportunity and guide the prospective member through their sales journey to connection
  • Develop, manage and report on sales pipelines
  • Use existing industry knowledge to introduce LINX and peering to new segments, including but not limited to, finance and enterprise companies. Create successful sales stories within these segments
  • Ensure an excellent knowledge of LINX products and services and industry developments
  • Use advanced consultative selling to help new and existing members get the most from their membership
  • Become the subject matter expert for selected finance and enterprise market segments
  • Help establish sales campaigns and “use” case for the finance and enterprise segments
  • Own, and develop new relationships with key partners and resellers of LINX to ensure business opportunities are identified and achieved
  • Treat all LINX members fairly and equally
  • Any other activities as required by LINX


Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication – written, verbal & presentation skills
  • Significant sales experience within the peering, IPT or IXP industry
  • Significant sales experience within enterprise, corporate and finance
  • Significant experience in consultative and solution selling
  • Familiarity with networking technologies and ability to understand high level technical concepts
  • Ability to define and meet deadlines and targets
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and target oriented
  • Significant experience of formal sales training required
  • Degree level qualification preferred
  • International experience preferred

  • You will be required to be security screened to BS7858:1996 standard (this process will start at the induction stage)
